National Cocaine Hotline 1 800 Cocaine (262 2462) and a further ten national drug and alcohol hotlines. They say: Sometimes, all it takes is one phone call to change your life. Here is a list of hotline and helplines that can get you into addiction treatment, or to a safe place to wait for help. Please note that not all hotlines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you don’t get in touch with a live person, keep calling and move down the list.
National suicide Prevention Hotline 1 800 273 TALK (8255). This is a crisis hotline that can help with many issues, not just suicide. Callers can be the distressed person or family and friends. They are connected with a professional nearby who will talk with them.
National youth Crisis Hotline 1 800 442 HOPE (4673) provides counseling and referrals to local drug treatment centers, shelters, and counseling services, as well as responding to youth dealing with pregnancy, molestation, suicide and child abuse.
Treatment Referral Helpline 1 800 662 HELP offered by SAMSHA refers callers to treatment facilities etc. you can navigate to any locality, e.g a page with treatment centers for New Shoreham (Block island).
